Grey Box Day 2024
State Flora Nurseries

🌲🌿🌳🌱🍃 Hello all plant lovers!! 🌳🌿🍃🌱🌲 Grey Box Day is coming up again soon, on Sunday 5 May, 10am-4pm. Hosted by Greybox Community Organisation Inc, the day aims to raise awareness of the importance of Grey Box trees. The Grey Box (Eucalyptus microcarpa) Grassy Woodlands was formerly widespread across south-eastern Australia. Today, only 10 to 15% of its original extent remains. In the weeks before the event, Yellow ribbons will be tied around Grey Box trees in City of Mitcham to highlight these special trees. Grey Box trees grow slowly and rarely reach a size where they are protected in South Australia. On Sunday 5 May 10AM - 4PM, at State Flora in Belair National Park, there will be a special on native plants 🌱🌲🍃🌱🌿🌳

Rally to Save the Cranker
Tandarnyangga (So called Victoria Square)

Did you know that Adelaide is a designated UNESCO City of Music? And that the Crown and Anchor Hotel is one of Adelaide’s oldest, most vibrant and loved living cultural icons.

The Cranker, as it is affectionately known, is the latest in a long line of live music venues at risk of shutting down - with developers trying to turn this much-loved pub into short-term student accommodation, putting profits ahead of community.

To put it clearly, shutting down the Cranker will be devastating for the future of South Australia’s live music scene and our homegrown artists. That is why South Australians have been coming together to fight to save the Cranker.

This Sunday, 1 pm Tarntanyangga / Victoria Square, the South Australian community is rallying to save the Cranker.

ABOUT JAUMAFEST

JaumaFest is a grassroots festival created in 2021 by us, James and Sophie Erskine.

Over the last four years, Jaumafest evolved from our wish of offering a nature immersion experience, building relationship to land and food source through regenerative farming, organic food and artisanal winemaking, and creating space for community connection. Jaumafest is an inclusive, safe and diverse space for all members of our community.

We believe community resilience and collaboration is central to building a sustainable future.

It is our hope that Jaumafest offers space to connect people from far and wide in support of local arts, music, farmers and producers, held with deep respect for the traditional custodians of Peramangk Country, and their ongoing relationship to this land we gather on.

Join us in December for this wonderful gathering, bring your friends and family and meet some amazing people.

Collect your season's cherries from our certified organic orchard, then chill out on the hill and listen to amazing live music with a glass or two of delicious natural wine. Bring a picnic rug and some snacks, and enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there!
