The NDIS changes have passed Parliament. Now it’s time for our community to come together.

After months of submissions, Senate hearings, emails, phone calls and advocacy, many of us are feeling disappointed, angry, worried and exhausted. We also have questions about what the final legislation means for us and our supports.

Join Every Australian Counts for a national online community debrief with members of our Steering Committee and legal experts to hear:

What actually passed Parliament

Who voted for and against the Bill and who chose not to vote at all.

What changed through the amendments.

What the amendments mean for us.

What concerns remain.

When the changes will start and what happens next.

What our rights and options are if our supports are affected.

Where we can go for advocacy, legal help and support.

What comes next for the Protect Our NDIS campaign.

There will be time to ask questions, share how we’re feeling and talk about what our community needs next. You’re also very welcome to simply come along and listen.

What will we be doing?

5:30-6:00: Welcomes, introduction to the topic.

6:00-6:45: We will talk a bit about what your story means, and why you may share your story. You do not need to share anything you don’t want to.

Your story can look different to other stories, & can be about lots of different things! You may think about how you may share a personal story, a professional story, or many other types of stories!

We will be discussing about how you may share your story and why. You do not need to share anything during the session if you don’t want to, & we ask stories shared are kept appropriate and mindful of others.

6:45-7:00: Break

7:00-7:30: We will have final conversations and wrap up!

Catering will be provided!

About EYDN

Enabled Youth Disability Network (EYDN) is an organisation run by and for young people with disability between 18-30 years in South Australia.

EYDN is dedicated to amplifying the voices and aspirations of young persons with disability through systemic advocacy, co-designing and facilitating peer networks and capacity building activities, in partnership with Purple Orange. EYDN is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

Our monthly peer network meetings provide opportunities to create community, develop self-advocacy skills and build confidence and knowledge in areas such as education, employment, independent living skills and human rights.

Our events

You do not need to be an NDIS participant. You do not need to have a diagnosis. Disability identity can mean many different things.

This is a free event. We also provide catering during the break.

Please let us know your access requirements via ticket registration so we can best accommodate.

Our sessions are accessible and LGBTQIA+ friendly.

Join Enabled Youth Disability Network (EYDN) for an afternoon of crafting and connecting as a disability community.

You can bring a long a project you are working on or try a craft EYDN has brought along. No messy or wet crafts (eg, painting, wet clay)

This is open to the general public to come along to Diverse City, EYDN will be there to support young people with disability.

For young people living with disability aged 16-35 years old. You do not need to be an NDIS participant. You do not need to be diagnosed.

This is a great session for people who would like to learn more about, and join EYDN, as well as connecting regular EYDN participants at an accessible venue! We will be meeting at Diverse-City which is an accessible and inclusive space. LGBTQIA+ safe space.

We are here to answer questions about NDIS, navigating the community, advocacy and capacity building. Feel free to ask questions or just talk about what you have been up to lately

EYDN can provide a support worker or interpreter for the group, on a request. You are welcome to bring your own support worker to assist with any additional support to participate. We ask all support workers attending to register to the event and provide details of company or business.

support workers: Please remember your role is assist the participant. Please sit back and only help when the participant asks.
