The OUR ‘SAAY’ Public Speaking Competition encourages Aboriginal children and young people to raise their voices on important topics and matters in Aboriginal affairs. Entrants participated in Heats across the state, speaking on topics such as family, culture, racism, language, BLM, money, social media and country.

12 Finalists will come together at Our ‘SAAY’ to participate in the final round where the judging panel will announce this year’s winners.

The Family Festival will be held at Adelaide Festival Plaza & Elder Park (not Victoria Square) and will start at the conclusion of the NAIDOC march. This Festival will have something for everyone from the organisation stalls, live entertainment and music, activities for the kids, amusement rides, food trucks and BBQ. This is an alcohol-free event.

Nganampa Ngura - Our places Post Office Projects proudly presents a group exhibition created in partnership with fellow Port Adelaide contemporary arts organisation Iwiṟi Arts. Featuring paintings and ceramics, ‘Nganampa Ngura - Our places’ is a celebration of collaboration, country, community and culture.

“Nganaṉa painting nyangangka nganaṉa nganampa ngura kutju paintamilalpai nganampa kulintjanguṟu.” - Audrey Brumby, Iwiṟi Arts Studio Artist.

“In our paintings, we are always painting about our own Country. Our places. We are painting as an expression of our own identity.”

Since its inception in 2021 Iwiṟi Art Studio has rapidly established itself as a highly regarded Studio. Iwiṟi creates a space for artistic expression that promotes cultural retention, transmission and wellbeing across the generations while also providing Aṉangu artists with commercial opportunities to produce economic benefit for their family and community.

Boomerang Painting for Kids Discover the history and meaning of boomerangs in this hands-on workshop, then decorate your own using traditional symbols.

Learn all there is to know about boomerangs in this hands-on creative workshop with Southern Cultural Immersion. The uses, construction and different types will be explained, fostering a deeper understanding of this ancient tool.

Join CVA, the Port Environment Centre and PAE Council as we celebrate NAIDOC week at Barker Inlet Wetlands on Kaurna Country!

The day will start with a guided walk and talk with Bryce, a Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri man from Tarnda Experiences, who will share his knowledge of plants and their food and medicinal uses. We’ll then get our hands dirty and help plant over 150 native seedlings to create a beautiful bushfoods garden at the wetlands. Enjoy a delicious morning tea made from native bushfoods after your hard work!

Looking Forward, Looking Back Photographic Exhibition and Community Day Honouring the 2026 NAIDOC Week theme, 50 Years: Looking Forward, Looking Back, this week-long celebration at the Wilpena Woolshed brings together community, culture and connection. Throughout the week, visitors can experience a photographic exhibition showcasing Adnyamathanha people across generations and through history.

As part of this week long celebration, a Community Day will be held on Wednesday 8th July from 10am. There will be local market stalls, music, welcome BBQ and a Welcome to Country at 10am.

We are proud to bring you NAIDOC in the North.

A free, community event celebrating National NAIDOC week in Northern Adelaide. Together, we aim to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and share the oldest, continuous living culture to build a unified and stronger community.

NAIDOC in the North is about connecting and celebrating culture, sharing, education and providing opportunities to our community in one accessible and safe place. A place to form genuine partnerships and cross-cultural connections with community and Aboriginal led Organisations and share local talent, amplifying local Aboriginal voices, people and stories.

The event will include a welcome to country, cultural performances and activities, lunch provided and many more exciting things!

Aboriginal Sports & Games for kids Try traditional Aboriginal games, learn their cultural origins, and make a Parntu game ball in this fun, hands-on family workshop.

Explore a range of fun and challenging Aboriginal games while learning about their cultural origins. Try jumping, dodging, ball skills, marbles, bowling and precision-based team and solo games.

Children will also discover the Aboriginal origins of AFL and make a traditional possum or kangaroo skin Parntu (game ball). Presented by Walking Together with Kaurna.

Dive into the world of Aboriginal art and learn the meanings behind traditional symbols with David Booth guiding the way.

Discover the storytelling language of Aboriginal art through traditional symbols and patterns.

Nunga Screen – held during Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week – is a short film showcase that shares and celebrates First Nations culture, stories and language through film.

Nunga Screen offers an entertaining program of short films for all ages, showcasing the work of both emerging and established filmmakers.

The program includes inspiring documentaries, captivating stories, drama, animation, and a blend of contemporary and traditional storytelling. Dedicated to bringing communities together, Nunga Screen celebrates culture and fosters meaningful conversations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The curated program has rolled out across South Australia for 15 years, reaching regional venues and communities, from cinemas and country halls to outdoor theatres.

The program is divided into two parts, with the first half being suitable for primary school-aged students and up.

Curated exclusively from films created by or in collaboration with First Nations filmmakers, writers and directors, Nunga Screen is an opportunity to experience stories from diverse perspectives. Venues and communities across the state are invited to host the event.

Nunga (Aboriginal people of southern South Australia) Screen is presented by Country Arts SA and is a fundraising initiative for the Country Arts Foundation.

In this workshop you will experience an Immersive Connection to Country and the sharing of games and stories about Aboriginal signs, symbols and Aboriginal art protocols. You will taste delicious quandong jam or a refreshing quandong syrup drink and learn about the health benefits and traditional uses of this remarkable native fruit.

Children will then create their own unique bracelet or keyring using real quandong seeds, decorating and crafting a special keepsake to take home.
