Fundraising for Palestine - Film night & Dinner
– Adelaide Bike Kitchen
Join us on Friday May 31st for a community dinner and film screening to raise awareness and funds to support ongoing efforts to stop the genocide in Palestine. 7.30pm dinner after ABK workshop, 8pm -9.30pm film screening We will be asking $5 a plate for dinner “From Under the Rubble” is a documentary about the 2009 bombing of Palestine by Israeli forces. Australian filmmakers Anne Tsoulis (Writer, Director & Producer) and John Moore (Producer) shed light on how civilians are impacted by war. In this age of instant global reporting, it is rare to hear from the most vulnerable of people – children. The events are narrated by child survivors of the Samouni family, and illustrated by animation of their drawings. This recount of the bombing in 2009 gives us a glimpse of the situation in Gaza now, and how the lives of Palestinian people are being torn apart. Permaculture garden & park tours in Willunga
– Bassett St Reserve
Fundraiser and garden tour in Willunga Join us as we tour 3 very different permaculture home gardens and the community-developed Bassett St Reserve What to expect Of the two established gardens, Chris Banks’s has a ‘grandchildren and weaving’ orientation while Jasper Simmons’s has a ‘year-round fruit and alternative accommodation’ focus. The third garden is Charlotte Jantje’s Y12 Steiner School Permaculture Project from last year. What she achieved designing and landscaping her parent’s block from scratch is very inspiring. During lunch there will be a guided tour of Bassett St Reserve conducted by renowned landscape designer Evette Sunset. The all-inclusive program will culminate with herbal teas and a debrief at Jasper’s house. Raising funds for permaculture All proceeds will go to supporting environmental and food sovereignty projects across developing South East Asia through Permafund. Lunch BYO everything for a picnic. Food can be left in cars at the reserve where we will return for lunch and reserve tour. |

Dance for Climate Action! Join Our Rising Tide Fundraising Ceilidh
– Waterside Workers Hall
Dear friends, dancers, and changemakers, You’re warmly invited to an unforgettable night of music, laughter, and dancing at the Rising Tide Fundraising Ceilidh! Whether you’re a seasoned ceilidh spinner or have two left feet, this is a night for everyone to come together in the name of climate justice. Why are we dancing? We’re raising funds to subsidise transport for as many people as possible to get to The People’s Blockade at the World’s Biggest Coal Port this November. It’s going to be one of the most powerful climate actions of the year – and we want to make sure it’s accessible to all. Who’s welcome? EVERYONE! Climate change affects all of us – across generations, cultures, and communities – so we want this event to reflect that diversity. We provide a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ folks, gender non-conforming people, First Nations peoples, children, families, elders, and anyone who cares about a fairer, safer future. What to wear? Dress for dancing! We suggest comfy clothes, plenty of layers (you will get warm but parts of this venue are chilly!) and sensible shoes for bouncing around. What to bring? A water bottle Your dancing spirit Cash or card if you’d like to buy drinks at our licensed bar; buy snacks or make a donation |
