Makerspace Adelaide

Makerspace Adelaide is a community workshop for creative making and fabrication. We provide affordable access to a variety of tools and equipment - from laser cutters to sewing machines, and traditional hand tools to Carbatec power tools. There are always volunteers onsite to help members learn how to safely use the tools and equipment.

Access Notes

Main entrance to Maker Space is via the stairs in the carpark at the back of the WEA. Wheelchair accessible entrance via elevator from ground floor of the WEA.

    Laser Cut Rubber Stamp Making

    Makerspace Adelaide

    If you've ever wanted to create your own rubber stamps for business or personal use, this workshop is for you! In this 90 minute workshop, you'll learn about optimising an image or logo for engraving, learning about rubber stamp materials, and creating your own stamps (Maximum of 3 each).

    All materials are included, and you'll be getting hands on with both Lightburn and our Trotec Q500 laser cutter.

    Basic vector drawing skills are recommended (learn these at our Drawing Workshop) You must complete a Laser Cutting induction before this workshop commences BYO laptop device is preferred (laptops are available on site if required) All consumable materials are provided for this workshop Enclosed shoes must be worn at all times

  • MakerSpace: DIY Birdbox (CNC Routing for Beginners)

    Learn about CNC routing, while getting hands on with woodwork! 

    Our CNC Routing for Beginners workshop is a perfect blend of hands-on woodwork and digital fabrication. You'll learn to create a timber birdbox, and how to setup, operate, and finish a CNC routed part. Created from Western Red Cedar timber, your birdbox will look great, and last for decades.

    Reduce waste by repairing instead of replacing!

    Do you enjoy fixing, mending, tinkering, or repairing things? The Repair Cafe is a welcoming space that is designed to help the community learn skills to repair and mend broken or damaged items.

    Save money by reusing or repurposing. Reduce your waste and gain a skill! Come along and help build a resilient community in these challenging times.

    Meet other like-minded people, repairers, makers, and community makers. We are also seeking volunteers who would like to help facilitate the sessions and share their skills.

    The Adelaide Repair Cafe is part of a global community dedicated to fixing broken household items & reducing our collective impact on the environment.
