Here’s what’s involved:

Upon entry, attendees get a 'passport' with their ticket, an A5-sized card with 3 circles to visit different communities in the event's Food Corners, get their passport stamped up to three times and receive a serving of traditional food. Additional passports can be purchased in the event.

Attendees can visit Community Areas, sit down, have a conversation, participate in activities, listen to stories, and learn about different cultural traditions.

Participate in fun ice-breaker games that facilitate community connection - 'Speed Friending'.

Visit the MOSAIC Bazaar upstairs to enter a vibrant multicultural market filled with stallholders, henna, turban-wrappings, - and during the event's intermissions, Community Storytelling Corners, cooking demonstrations and for the first time..... The Living Library - a quiet space where attendees can listen to stories from cultural traditions, stories about migration, navigating between cultures, creating a home away from home, racism and discrimination, and the joys and challenges being experienced in our multicultural communities.

Performances throughout the evening including the Intercultural Fashion Show - audience participation also encouraged so dress to impress!

MEET THE ORGANISERS… MOSAIC Adelaide Inc. is a multicultural community organisation dedicated to creating intercultural experiences and fostering transformative inclusion, belonging and youth empowerment in South Australia. We build global citizens, empower young people, and bring communities together through events, stories, performances, food, music, dance, and celebration of humanity.

Established in 2017 as ‘Cultural Night’, a multicultural fundraising event of the Adelaide University Rotaract Club, MOSAIC Adelaide Inc. has grown to new heights in order to have more impact, and make a larger difference in the lives of others.

Dockside Festival returns in February 2025 at the historic Hart’s Mill in Port Adelaide, bringing the Port’s unique character and riverfront heritage to life. A three-day celebration of culture, Country and community on Ngarrindjeri Lands at the Coorong waterfront. Hosted by Uncle Moogy Sumner and the Tal-Kin-Jeri Dance Group, the festival brings together Aboriginal dancers, artists, weavers and knowledge keepers from across Australia to share their skills and stories.

Visitors can join cultural workshops in weaving, carving and dance, explore the First Nations marketplace, and take part in daily ceremonies, including a special sunset smoking ceremony and corroboree.

Evenings feature music, storytelling and dance under the stars, with camping available on Country. BYO camping equipment.

The legendary Blak Nite returns to Carclew this May - in a powerful celebration of First Nations music, performance and culture.

Blak Nite 2026 will feature a dynamic mix of established and emerging First Nations artists, including performers from Carclew’s Gig Rig Tracks program, which delivers regional music and dance initiatives across Whyalla, Port Augusta and Ceduna,

Expect an exciting line-up of musicians, performers and dancers. Stay tuned as we reveal the full program of artists and performers - including the headline act - in the coming weeks.

Beyond the stage, Blak Nite will also feature visual artists, installations, makers and interactive workshops, bringing together a vibrant mix of creative practices. There will also be market and food stalls offering plenty of delicious options throughout the evening.

Blak Nite is a celebration of First Nations culture, creativity and community - spotlighting powerful voices and creating meaningful opportunities for emerging artists to grow, connect and be seen.

As part of Adelaide Climate Action Week, Our Country, Our Voices: First Nations Voices for Country is an evening celebrating the strength of First Nations voices through storytelling, music, spoken word and creative expression.

The event creates a welcoming space for First Nations people to share stories, experiences and connection to Country, while exploring climate change, caring for Country and our shared responsibility to create a more sustainable future. Through creativity and conversation, the evening invites people to listen, learn, connect and reflect on the important role we all play in caring for Country.

More than a showcase, this is an opportunity to inspire action, strengthen relationships and build a shared commitment to caring for Country. Together, we’ll celebrate First Nations voices, deepen understanding and explore how culture, community and collective action can create lasting impact for future generations.

Whether you’re performing, sharing a story or simply coming along to listen, we’d love you to join us for an inspiring evening of connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Come together to celebrate culture, hear diverse voices, build new relationships and be part of conversations that inspire action and strengthen our collective care for Country.

We simply ask you to contribute an amount that you feel is appropriate, affordable or reflects the value of the evening to you. Mount Barker District Council is proudly partnering with unique Adelaide Hills arts venue The Cheese Factory to present Tunes For Trees - two days of incredible live music, where every ticket sold contributes to restoring our beautiful local environment.

Running from 12pm-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday, Saturday’s lineup has a ‘modern folk’ feeling to it, with the award-winning talents of Naomi Keyte and Loren Kate. Sunday leans into sophisticated jazz vibes, with Dave McEvoy and Mélange Latino. There’s also a chance for Saturday’s attendees to join a Pop-Up Choir in the bar led by the amazing Natalie Ermer, while Sunday’s barflies can soak up the sounds of local piano prodigy, 17-year-old Jed Oster-Ives.

Every ticket sold includes a native tree sapling for the purchaser which can either be collected from the venue and planted at home or donated to Council’s community tree planting program. Additional native trees and plants will also be for sale on the day and there will be plenty of time to wander the gorgeous gardens of the Cheese Factory perusing the plant life on offer!

Tunes for Trees is part of the inaugural statewide climate action festival Adelaide Climate Action Week which runs from Monday 27 July until Sunday 2 August.

On the weekend before this event, Council is holding its annual planting event for National Tree Day at Springs Wetland, Mount Barker. We’d love to see you there! Click here for further info.
