Sign Squad: Auslan for beginners

Ever wanted to learn Auslan - Australian sign language? If you’re aged 12 and over then this is for you. No previous experience is necessary! Sessions are free and will be run by a qualified Deaf instructor in collaboration with The Deaf Butterfly Effect. The first hour will be a lesson on Auslan basics like the alphabet and simple vocab, then the second hour is more of a social time to practice, chat, and ask questions! Everyone is welcome to attend either or both parts of the session depending on what suits you! Location: West Torrens Library Sun Room, 1 Brooker Terrace, Hilton. Time: 6pm - 8pm on the third Thursday of every month. |

Create a cushion cover by upcycling (Tickets on-sale 9/12)

This is a two part workshop, you will need to attend both sessions in order to compete your project. Thursday 9 & 23 January, 1 - 3pm Makerspace events are 18+ years only. Bring along old clothes or anything you wish to turn into a lovely upcycled cushion cover. This small group, two part workshop, will take you through the steps to transform unused items into a new, much loved item for your home. You will use our Makerspace sewing machines and learn the basic skills needed. Tech Lab, Unley Civic Library, 181 Unley Road, Unley Cost $5 to be paid on booking, bookings essential, bookings will be available on 9 December 2024. Book online via Eventbrite or phone 8372 5100.
