Description

Kondoli Whale Story in the Sky – Starlore & Sea Giants invites you to a truly extraordinary evening where culture, cosmos and whale season come together in a way never before experienced on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

As part of the Winter Whale Festival, this exclusive guided night-sky experience takes place in Carrickalinga, Australia’s first International Dark Sky Community, offering the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable journey through the stars.

Led by respected Ngarrindjeri cultural storyteller Mark Koolmatrie alongside astronomer Fraser Farrell (Fleurieu Stars), guests will explore celestial constellations, the powerful story of Kondoli the Whale, and the deep cultural connections between sky, sea and Country.

Through guided sky interpretation and storytelling, participants will experience the night sky in a richer and more meaningful way, seeing not just stars, but stories written across the heavens.

This first-of-its-kind event offers a rare opportunity to connect with ancient knowledge, explore the wonders of the universe, and reflect on the significance of whale season on the Fleurieu Coast.
