Mount Barker District Council is proudly partnering with unique Adelaide Hills arts venue The Cheese Factory to present Tunes For Trees - two days of incredible live music, where every ticket sold contributes to restoring our beautiful local environment.

Running from 12pm-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday, Saturday’s lineup has a ‘modern folk’ feeling to it, with the award-winning talents of Naomi Keyte and Loren Kate. Running from 12pm-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday, Saturday’s lineup has a ‘modern folk’ feeling to it, with the award-winning talents of Naomi Keyte and Loren Kate. Sunday leans into sophisticated jazz vibes, with Dave McEvoy and Mélange Latino. There’s also a chance for Saturday’s attendees to join a Pop-Up Choir in the bar led by the amazing Natalie Ermer, while Sunday’s barflies can soak up the sounds of local piano prodigy, 17-year-old Jed Oster-Ives.

Every ticket sold includes a native tree sapling for the purchaser which can either be collected from the venue and planted at home or donated to Council’s community tree planting program. Additional native trees and plants will also be for sale on the day and there will be plenty of time to wander the gorgeous gardens of the Cheese Factory perusing the plant life on offer!

Tunes for Trees is part of the inaugural statewide climate action festival Adelaide Climate Action Week which runs from Monday 27 July until Sunday 2 August.

On the weekend before this event, Council is holding its annual planting event for National Tree Day at Springs Wetland, Mount Barker. We’d love to see you there! Click here for further info.

Friends of Cobbler Creek - native garden group Cobbler Creek Recreation Park, Smith Road, Salisbury East

FOCC are passionate about our local environment and we want to share this passion with our community. We know from our own personal experiences that people who spend time in nature are happier and healthier. We want to give the local community the opportunity to spend time in Cobbler Creek Recreation Park so that they will benefit as we do, and become aware of the recreation and conservation values of the park. Friends of Belair National Park Green Shed, near Main Oval, Belair National Park

Belair National Park (the Park) is 835 hectares of diverse habitats, supporting many threatened species. The Friends of Belair National Park play a critical role in the on-ground management of this incredible biodiversity. As a volunteer group, we simply don’t have the numbers to adequately cover the entirety of the Park, so every extra pair of hands really counts.

How you can help Join us at one of our regular bushcare sessions: Tuesday and Friday morning: every week, 8:30 am to 10:30 am, meet at the Green Shed (near Main Oval) before 8:30 am Saturday morning: on the third Saturday of every month, from 9:00 am to 11.00 am, meet at the Green Shed at 9:00 am Thursday evening: alternate weeks during daylight saving periods, any time between 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, locations vary. Adopt a block – work in your own area, in your own time. See below. Help us in other ways. We’re always seeking more hands for non-bushcare tasks. Everyone is welcome to come and try, you don’t need to make a regular commitment, and there are many benefits for the Park and for you. We provide all training and tools; you provide the enthusiasm. If you’re new to bushcare and don’t know how it works that’s fine, we can help you find some easily identified weeds and show you how we remove them without causing damage to the native plants we are trying to protect.
